تكهنت بعض الصحف الأميركية بما ينتظر العالم في العام الجديد من صراعات وأزمات إنسانية فرضتها الحروب الدائرة والكوارث في أنحاء شتى من العالم.

فقد نشرت مجلة فورين بوليسي تقريرا مطولا رصد أحداث عام 2014 الماضي، واعتبره سيئا للسلام والأمن الدولي. ومع ذلك، رأى التقرير أنه كانت هناك محطات مضيئة كما في الجولة الأخيرة من مفاوضات إيران النووية، وتغلب قوة الحوار على العنف في تونس، وعودة العلاقات الدبلوماسية الأميركية مع كوبا.

وترى المجلة أن الصراعات مع العام الجديد ستتزايد مرة أخرى بعد انخفاض كبير عقب انتهاء الحرب الباردة، وأن حروب الحاضر تقتل وتشرد المزيد من البشر، وتزداد صعوبة إنهائها أكثر من السنوات الماضية. وتكهنت المجلة بعشر حروب سيشهدها العالم عام 2015 الجاري:

أولها: في سوريا والعراق بسبب الحكومات الطائفية وتزايد قوة تنظيم الدولة الإسلامية، وثانيها: في أوكرانيا، وثالثها: في جنوب السودان، والرابعة: في نيجيريا بسبب جماعة بوكو حرام وانخفاض أسعار النفط العالمية، والخامسة: في الصومال بسبب الاضطراب السياسي وتهديد حركة الشباب، والسادسة: في جمهورية الكونغو الديمقراطية، والسابعة: في أفغانستان بسبب التحديات التي تواجه حكومة الوحدة الجديدة، والثامنة: في اليمن بسبب التنافس بين النخب الحاكمة، والتاسعة: في ليبيا بعد تقويض الفترة الانتقالية والفوضى التي عمت البلاد، والعاشرة: في فنزويلا بعد الصدامات بين المتظاهرين وقوات الأمن والمليشيات الموالية للحكومة.

أزمة اللاجئين

ومن جانبها، تحدثت افتتاحية صحيفة لوس أنجلوس تايمز عن أزمة اللاجئين المتفاقمة في العالم، وفي مقدمتها اللاجئون السوريون، وأن مثل هذه الأزمات الاستثنائية تتطلب مساعدة دولية استثنائية يلتزم فيها قادة العالم بمساعدة الذين لا حول لهم ولا قوة بسبب العنف الذي لا ينتهي.

وفي ما يتعلق باللاجئين السوريين، نشرت مجلة تايم أن لبنان سيبدأ اعتبارا من اليوم فرض قيود على تأشيرة دخول السوريين في محاولة لوقف فيضان اللاجئين إليه بسبب المنافسة على الوظائف مع نظرائهم اللبنانيين، الأمر الذي أدى إلى توترات بين الطرفين.

يشار إلى أن السوريين واللبنانيين كانوا يتنقلون بين بلديهما بحرية، لكن سيتعين الآن على السوريين الراغبين في العبور إلى لبنان أن 

يقدموا طلب تأشيرة على الحدود، والذين يرغبون في العمل هناك عليهم أن يكونوا تحت كفالة شخص أو شركة لبنانية.
